Cartoon Network cancels Young Justice because of toy sales?!?! Imagine that…
I know that the Green Lantern: Animated Series was also cancelled but I never watched a single episode but from what I heard, it’s pretty good. Even though Bruce Timm did the art for that show, I just couldn’t get passed the fact that it’s CGI. If you have any love for this series like I do or even the Green Lantern series, please sign the petition and help bring these shows back.
UPDATE: Warner Bros. will be meeting on April 11th to discuss the possibility of bringing the shows back but fan funded.
I can’t believe I didn’t hear about this sooner! OK so I’m sure all of you have heard that Drake is producing a new Aaliyah album and people are divided as to whether he should or shouldn’t. In Drake’s defense, he’s a big fan of hers and he was in love with her to the point where he wrote a letter to her NINE YEARS AFTER SHE DIED. Creepy??
So when Missy Elliot and Timbaland heard about Drake’s plans they said that it wouldn’t be considered an Aaliyah album unless they’re involved since, you know, they were friends and all. Now I don’t know about you but that sounds logical to me but according to Missy and Timbaland Drake hasn’t contacted them yet…
…And now the dog himself DMX is putting in his 2 cents about this and to be honest with you, he is saying everything that I had in my mind when I first heard of the news about this “album”. I love Ice-T and all but I’m going to have to disagree with him when he said 50 Cent was the last Gangsta Rapper because, to me, 50 Cent’s name is how much he’s worth when compared to DMX. If only people spoke up when Eminem was producing Pac’s album!
If you’re a fan of the American Idol series, then you probably heard the news of the beef between Nicki Minaj and former Idol judge Steven Tyler. What happened was Tyler criticized ALL the current judges, not just Nicki’s, judging talents. Her name does get thrown in when he said, and I quote, “Nicki would’ve sent Bob Dylan back to the cornfield” (if he’d been a contestant on the show).
Minaj responded last Monday via Twitter claiming allegations of racism. The Aerosmith frontman has issued an apology saying if what he said came out sounding racist, he didn’t mean it that way and denied ever being one.
With that out of the way, I got to ask, didn’t Steven Tyler collaborate with Run D.M.C. who also happen to be black and rappers? Didn’t their collaboration help break Rap music into the mainstream to the point where Walk This Way was one of the first Rap videos played in heavy rotation on MTV?? Didn’t that same collaboration help revitalize the careers of Aerosmith to the point where their album Permanent Vacation, done a year after their collaboration, went 5 times Platinum?!?! Why in the PHUCK would he choose to collaborate with black folk, let alone artists that aren’t in the rock genre, if he was in fact a racist?!?!

West Coast Hip-Hop has taken a sudden blow with the passing of Above the Law member KMG, born Kevin Michael Gulley, yesterday morning. It’s been confirmed by long time friend and former Ruthless Records artist Kokane via Twitter but the cause of death has yet to identified. What’s really messed up is the fact that yesterday, just out of the blue, my girlfriend and I were watching and rapping along to the Black Superman music video. Our condolences go out to the Gulley family and friends and I believe Kokane put it best when he tweeted, “KMG —> Kevin Gulley was truly 1 of the Greats! RiP to my brotha , my Friend , my heart!!! I will miss him! I love U kev, n JESUS name ”
I wanted to stall this for a bit so I can make one post with the 4th of July. Saving the best for last, this song is the reason why I had to buy the album the first day it got released! It had a catchy hook and a dope ass beat with some crazy lyrics thrown in it just the way Hip-Hop music was back in the glory days. I hope you added Point Blank to your favorite Hip-Hop group list or even gave them a chance with these blog entries. So I guess there’s nothing more left to say than happy Canada Day and have a blessed 4th of July.
P.S. from the video, only Jackal and Kidd appear on the CD cut so I would also suggest checking out the audio version of this song because its different, mixed better and, in my opinion, the far superior version. If only they have a version where they combine the audio with the video as one big mega-mix but mixed like the audio version, that’ll be DOPE!
This music video was in demand on Much Music back when it first came out in 2008. I apologize for the sound quality but you really need to hear it in better audio because this doesn’t do it any justice. Canada Day Countdown taking it from T.O. 2 O.T. baby!
This shit had me laughing for weeks! When you first start the video, it says weird video games but you know what? The minute you see the word Hentai in whatever it is your looking it, expect the unexpected. So when you hear you’re going to save the human race from an alien invasion by straight up masturbating in time to fire the orgaboost laser, it’s just another day in the office. I remember when this song came out; it was being hyped in music stores and everything. I actually found out that their debut album was being released because of this song and I was really hoping for their older material to be on it. Not saying their newer material doesn’t compare, but like I said before, it deserves to be on wax.
